Myself
I am Abdullah. I am nine years old. I am a student. I read
in class five. The name of my school is Rajbari Zilla School. I live in Rajbari
alone with my family. My father’s name is SD Hossain. He is a teacher. My
mother’s name is Fatema Khatun. She is a homemaker. I have one brother and one
sister. They both are students. I have a pet. It is a cat. I call it Minu. It
likes fish and milk. My favorite food is pitha. My favorite hobby is gardening
and reading books. As favorite game is football, In the afternoon I play with
my siblings. In my free time, I love to recite the holy Quran. I also draw
calligraphy and try to learn more about it.
My Family
Every person lives in a family. So, I live alone with my
very caring and lovely family. I have a small family of members 5. It consists
of my father, mother, grandmother, my younger sister and myself. My father is
known is Md Abdul Jalil who is a renowned professor. My mother, Fatema Khatun,
is an awesome homemaker. My grandmother who is near about sixty, still active
enough to run her own business. She helps other women to get job and earn
money. My young sister reads in class three in the same school of mine. She is
undoubtedly very intelligent one. We help each other in our work. Really, we
are a good and happy family.
Food Pyramid
Food pyramid is a chart to show the five groups of foods.
The base or the bottom of the pyramid contains breads, cereals, rice, noodles,
potatoes etc. We should eat plenty of these foods. There are some fresh fruits
and vegetables in the next one. We must eat them regularly. As we go up the
pyramid, we can find dairy products such as milk, cheese etc. There are also
meat, fish, beans, nuts and eggs. We should eat this food item moderately. They
are very essential for our health but we do not need too much of them. And at the top, we have fats, oils, sweets,
etc. We should eat very little of these foods. Thus, we can maintain a diet
food to keep a sound health.
A Firefighter
A fire fighter is a one who fights with destructive fire. He
is such a familiar figure in every nation. There is hardly any country where
there is no fire service unit. However, a firefighter generally works in the
fire department. He wears his departmental uniform. His main job is to put out
fire that is such a very risky job. Apart from this, physical fitness,
strength, courage, speed, balance is very important for this kind of job. When
he gets the news of any accident, he goes to the spot. Then he fights with fire
and saves others’ lives at the risk of his own life. In fact, a firefighter is
a protector of our society. So, we should respect him for his noble work.
Leisure
Leisure means one’s free time to do anything official. It is
time for enjoying with own choice of favorite activities. Every individual has
his own leisure time in life. People
spend their leisure time by doing different activities that make them
enthusiastic in various things. I am a student of primary division. So, I have
also some of my own leisure times. My leisure time is different from unlike any
other person. I spend my leisure time by reading story books, newspapers,
drawing and painting. Sometimes I watch TV and play indoor and outdoor games.
keep me fit and strong. So, every man should enjoy leisure time by doing
something.
My evening activities/What I usually do in the
evening
Every man does some activities in the evening. I am a
student. I have some activities in the evening. I always do my duties according
to a routine. In the evening, I usually wash my face and hands and say my
evening prayer. Then I take some light foods. After that I go to my reading
room and study from 6.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. At first, I complete my homework.
After completing my study, I watch cartoon on TV. Sometimes, I play video games
on computer and read newspapers. At
10.30 p.m. I take my dinner with my parents. Then I brush my teeth. I go to bed
at 11 p.m.
My Favorite
Games and Spots
There are many games and sports in our country. They are
football, cricket, volley-ball, tennis, badminton, hockey etc. My favorite game
is football. It is very interesting and enjoyable. The game is played between
two teams. Each team has eleven players. There is one goalkeeper, two backs, three
half-backs and five forward players in each team. There are a referee and two
linesmen. They conduct the game properly. When the referee whistles, the game
starts. The game runs for ninety minutes. All the players have to obey the
rules of game. Football is a popular game in the world. It keeps our body fit.
The Main
Tourist Spots of Bangladesh
Bangladesh is a land of natural beauties. There are many
tourist spots in our motherland. They are attractive and enjoyable to
visualize. Cox’s Bazar, the Saint Martin’s Island, Srimangal, Madhobkundu are
the main tourist spots of ours. Cox’s Bazar is the most popular tourist spot in
around the nation. It is the longest sea beach in our country. The scenery of Cox’s Bazar is very charming.
The Saint Martin’s Island is also a great tourist spot in our country. It is
the only coral island of our country. Srimangal is a beautiful tourist spot. It
is full of the tea gardens. Madhobkundu are famous for its beautiful
waterfalls. Besides, there are Khagrachari Hill Tracts, Bagerhat Shat Gambuj
Mosque, Mahsthangarh etc. We are really proud of these tourist spots
Saint Martin’s
Island
Bangladesh is a land of natural beauties. There are many
beautiful places in our country. Saint Martin’s Island is one of them. It is a
small island. It is the only coral island in Bangladesh. The local name of the
island is “Narikel Jinjira.” It is very beautiful to see. It has different
shapes and colours. Going there anybody can enjoy the beautiful coral od Saitnt
Martit’s Island. Besides, there are different kinds of fishes in this island.
There is a tourist spot. It is 26 nautical miles away from Teknaf. Anybody can
go there by sea bus. The island is full of natural beauties. Many tourists come
to visit here every year.
My Home Town
Kushtia is a small town under Khulna Division. It stands on
the river of Gorai. The area of Kushtia district is about 1621.15 square
kilometers. About 25 lacks people live here. They are Muslims, Hinduism and
other religions. It has six upozilas, 61 union parishads and 978 villages. It
has one public university (Islamic University), one public medical college and
public schools and colleges. It has also
private schools, colleges and universities. Besides, there are big shopping
malls, hospitals, clinics, temples, mills and factories etc in our district.
Kushtia is the home of many famous poets, authors, singers, actors and
actress. It is well-known to all for
Shilaidaha Kuthibari and Lanon Shai Mazar. In fact, I am very proud of my home
town.
My Home District
The name of my home district is Kishoreganj. I love my home
district because it is my birth place. It is about 145 kilometres from Dhaka.
The area of Kishoreganj town is 10 square kilometres. There are several
important places in it. The largest Eid ground known as Solakia Eid Ground, the
Pagla Mosque, the Govt. Gurudayal College are some of the important places of
the district. It is the birth places of several personalities. Chandrabati,
Syed Nazrul Islam, Upendro Kishore Roy Chowdhury, Sukumar Roy, and Zainul
Abedin are from Kishoreganj. I am proud of my home district. I love my home
district very dearly.
Liberation War
Museum
Liberation War Museum is an important place for our nation.
There are many relics of our freedom fighters in this museum. It is situated at
Segun Bagicha, Dhaka. Last month I with my parents visited the museum. There
are six galleries in the museum. These galleries exhibit rare photographs,
documents, newspaper clippings and objects used by our freedom fighters and
martyrs. At gallery-3, there is independence’s declaration copy by Bangabandhu
Sheikh Majibur Rahman. At gallarery-6, we find a pair of glasses, a pen, a
note-book, a money bag, a mudded shirt and other things used by our freedom
fighters and martyrs. It is a great experience
of my life. I shall never forget it.
My Native
Village
The name of my village is Savar. It is not so big but famous
village. It is about two miles long and one mile wide. It is in the district of
Dhaka under Savar thana. More than 5 lac people live in the village. They are
mostly Muslims. They are very simple and honest. They live in peace. They help
each other. There are a boys’ high school, a girls’ high school, a primary
school, there mosques and a madrasha. There is a market in the village. The
communication of the village is very easy. The natural scenery of my village is
very fine. I love my village. I am proud of it.
My Dream
I have so many dreams in my life. But I have a specific aim
to become a teacher. I love people and I love to teach them. I think teaching
is a really honest profession. Being a good teacher is not easy at all. There
are lots of places in the world where the kids don’t get a proper education. I
want to help them. I want to make education free and easy for all. Education is
an important thing in everyone’s lives. Education can change your life. That’s
why it is my dream to become a teacher and helping kids to become educated.
Cyclone Aila
Bangladesh is a land of natural calamities. Every year earthquake flood, cyclone, drought
etc visit our country. The word ‘Alia’ means dolphin. The cyclone ‘Aila’ broke
all the records of the past that occurred in 2009. It had caused a great damage
to crops, property and wild animals. Houses, cattle and other animals were
washed away alone with the water. Trees were uprooted and roads and crops were
gone under water. Thousands of people became homeless, shelter-less, foodless,
cloth-less. The cyclone was the cause of many people and wild animals’ death.
Our government took proper steps to help the affected people and damaged
construction. The people of our country
will never forget it.
Our Motherland
The name of our country is the People’s Republic of
Bangladesh. It became independent in 1971. The land area of Bangladesh is
147570 square kilometers. About 17 crores of people live in this small country.
Bangladesh is a developing country. The economics of this country is mainly
based on agriculture. The main crops that this country produces are rice, jute,
tea, fruit, etc. The main food that the inhabitant of ours eat is rice and
fish. Bangladesh is an agricultural country. Most of the people, here, are
connected with cultivation and farming. However, there are people of some other
professions too. Some are teachers, businessmen, govt. officers, doctor,
freelancers and so one. People of this country know how to live happily and
peacefully within poverty and national hazards.
A Field Trip
We went to the Liberation War Museum on 14 June. It is
situated at Agargaon, Dhaka. The trip was planned as Part of our Bangladesh and
Global Studies course. Two of our teachers guided us. We went there by bus. Our
bus reached the museum at 10 a. m. A guide was waiting for us. There were four
permanent galleries. At “Gallery 2- our Rights, our Sacrifices”. As we went
inside “Gallery - 4 our Victory, our Values”. We fell silent. We were sad as we
looked at the personal belongings of some of our martyred intellectuals and
freedom fighters - a pair of glasses, a pen, a notebook, a money- bag, a shirt
and other such things. We left the museum at 12: 30 p. m. It was an experience
we would never forget.
The hare and
the tortoise
The hare and the tortoise lived in the same forest alone
with other animals. The hare was proud of his speed and always laughed at the
tortoise. Being angry, one day the tortoise proposed to the hare to run a race.
As a reply, the hare happily agreed for the race. Then, the race started from
next to a tree and finish to a river. They also called other animals to watch
the competition. Though the hare was fastest animal in the jungle, but on the
way, he took a nap. On the other hand, the tortoise continued moving towards
the winning line. Slowly but surely, the tortoise reached the finish line and
won the race.
Sidr in
Bangladesh
Bangladesh is a land of natural calamities. Every year earthquake flood, cyclone, drought
etc visit our country. Sidr is one kind of cyclonic storm. It looks like an
eye. It was a terrible cyclone of the 2007 season. Sidr attacked on 15
November, 2007. It had caused a great damage to crops, property and animals.
Houses, cattle and other animals were washed away. Thousands of people became
homeless, shelter-less, foodless, cloth-less. Many people and wild animals
died. Our government took proper steps to help the affected people. During Sidr
both people and young students helped the affected people in many ways. In fact, Sidr was a terrible cyclone. The people of our country will never forget
it.
